Tryon Wins Miss Mohawk Valley Title

Lynn Adele Tryon, 21, of Tribes Hill was crowned Miss Mohawk Valley 2009 during the annual scholarship pageant held Saturday (March 28) at Ilion High School. Tryon is a student at the New School of Radio and Television. She will spend the next year promoting her platform of "Celebrating Heroes" as well as rasising awareness for the Children's Miracle Network. Tryon will receive a $1,000 scholarship for winning the Miss Mohawk Valley title and will now advance to compete at the Miss New York pageant this summer.

Colleen Gagne of Gloversville as selected first runner-up and will receive a $500 scholarship. BrieAnne Wilson of Gloversville was named second runner-up and and winner of a $300 scholarship. Amanda Morse of Ephratah was selected as the community service winner and earned a $100 scholarship. Tonie Marie Leone of Chadwicks won a $100 scholarship for being chosen Miss Congeniality and also took home a $60 People's Choice award. All the non-finalist participants will receive $50 scholarships and the non-finalist interview award went to Morse with the non-finalist talent award presented to Nichole Marie Grant of Whitesboro.
